About
Paper first
Plenty of classrooms do not have computers every day, so every MuggsEd day runs on paper: a weekly packet, one answer sheet, and a key. Teachers have to check student work fast and accurately, so the answer sheets are built to be graded with a phone, right in the browser.
MuggsEd is the twin of MuggsTech.net, which carries Sean's computer science and technology courses. Same build, same New Orleans, same idea: courses for the rest of us.
Who is Mugg?
Sean Muggivan, LCSW
Sean Muggivan has been teaching in New Orleans for more than a decade. He is currently awaiting certification as a high school math teacher with an endorsement in computer science education. He has taught math at the middle school level, as a general education teacher and as a special education teacher, and at the high school level.
Sean graduated from the University of New Orleans with a liberal arts degree (creative writing and early Victorian literature) and from Louisiana State University with a master's in social work. Before he became a teacher, he practiced clinical social work, primarily with adolescents. He carries that drive to help young people achieve and succeed into his teaching and the courses he designs.
Sean is a lifelong resident of the Greater New Orleans area and lives in the 7th Ward with his wife and children.
